Even single scents have a lot of interest and variation, don’t they? A rose can differ so much from another on a walk in the neighborhood. I suppose this is down to the recipe ingredients and their ratios to one another like in a perfumary.  Fish fertilizer vs cow manure, etc. As well as the origin of the plant itself. Natural alchemy.

When I was little I loved scents and perfumes.  I would get whatever lotions and treats I could afford at the drug or department stores. Not good for my sensitive skin...she often rebelled and I’d have to pay an additional rash fee on top of my allowance money for the product itself. Thankfully, my skin does not usually have an attitude to share these days so I keep exploring. I remember how much I loved the display of a small collection of perfume bottles on the vanity of a woman that I babysat for, always admiring her poise and grace.

Walter’s dad liked wearing cologne’s and that gave me additional liberty to enjoy myself and try new things. For my wedding, I wore Jo Malone’s Mimosa and Cardamom...with some beautiful flowers hand-painted on the side of the bottle. Loved that smell and the special treat I gave myself.

I had and still have that little collection of perfumes that I am into on my dresser in a porcelain and pewter tray. My tastes, ahem smells, have changed quite a bit over the years.

Today, I gravitate towards interesting, complex, layered, surprising, and unique as tantalizing descriptions in my mind and I often combine my favorites according to my mood. Either people are too shy to share negative feedback or it’s working for me. Lol

Last year I got a roller, Papyrus, from a shop that is mostly Egyptian oils and have consistently added it to whatever else I am choosing to wear. I am rewriting my stories one dab at a time. :-)

Some of my current favorites:

I Don’t Know What, DS and Durga

Scarlet Moon, RMS

Florence, Tocca

And currently trying out a new scent from France by Panier Des Sens that’s making me feel delicious and alive.

What are you all into? Come on, toot those horns like we’re an intersection in South America! Or tell me what everyday scents float your boat (coffee, baking cookies, laundry) and cause you to inhale more deeply
